Wet wood in transon

I am a new owner of 2000 Arima SR19. I like this boat very much. I live in Massachusetts and fish Race Point and Stellwagon Bank from Green Harbor, Marshfield. This is at least 20 miles open water ride each way. This boat allows me fishing when not many boats want to go because of the weather.

Recently I installed trim tabs on my boat. Doing this I found that wood in transom of the boat is wet. It is not rotten yet. It is just a little bit wet and did not change the color in upper...

BOATING SEASON OVER ?

In the Pacific Northwest Vancouver BC Canada area for 99% of us the boating season is over. After all it's Nov. 7th & the temp. is in the 40's & 50's F.
But still some days in Nov. can be sunny with light winds & temp. may get in the upper 50's so boating still in my opionion can still be enjoyed.
For that reason we have not called an end to our boating season yet.
Many of you would never boat in the fall & winter months but many members who live...

windshield rebuild

leaky window fix

I noticed water coming under the base of the windshield last time out so I called Arima and spoke to Don about how best to fix it. He reccomended black silicone on the inside all the way around and up the vertical gap between the metal frames in the corner. this is for a 17 sc soft top. Taping the area leaving 1/16"-1/8" between the tape edge and the bottom of the frame ,which is felt ,is key as the black silicone is very messy. I took my time and it came out looking very nice...

Since I believe the only question that is dumb, is the one that is not asked. Straighten me (us) out.

Arima .... sounds simple enough, but I hear many different ways to say it. At dealers, I can hear 2 or 3 different ways and now with so many used boats trading it is a bit wierd. I sometimes use a couple of different ways.

Tell us how to say it properly.

Arima .... air-a-MA

Arima ... a REE ma

Arima ... once like a Mexican event... Ah Ree...

Wash and wax product?

Anybody use the Walmart boat covers? If so what boat and what size cover. I have a 85 Seahunter and ordered a boat cover and still need to see if it will work. I have noticed on reading that some of the guys are mentioning that the $100 Walmart covers are similar to other covers that cost in the $300 range. Thanks for any comments. Pat

I recently purchased a 2002 21' Sea Ranger with a 02 Honda 130 and 9.9. I have been considering using a transom saver. I asked a local Arima dealer and he recomended using one, but another mechanic familiar with Arima's said it's not needed.

I was doing some research online and found a couple diferent products and opinions. What are you thoughts on using a typical transom saver, the M-YWedge www.m-ywedge.com/, or...

Cable Buddy -- HIGH recommendation

For those of us still still using cable steering and don't want to/cant't afford Bay Star or replacing your cable ... install a Cable Buddy. $25.00, with oil and less than 1/2 hour install and what a difference. It's made by Davis and available lots of places. Oil it 1x yearly and you will extend the life of your cable.. This is a VERY HIGH recommendation from an old boater.

Spraying truck bedliner on the interior floor?

To deal with the gel-coat spiderwebs in my 20 year old floor, and help with the floors being slick for in the rain (and all the time for the dog), I've been thinking of spraying the inside floor of my boat with truck bedliner materiel.

Has anyone done this before? How well did it work? Has it held up well? Anyone know if there is a self-applied product available in white?

I vaguely recall someone mentioning this on the site before, but I could not find the old...

Live well wont fill

Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the live well on a 21' not filling up when running fast...I have the basic live well at the back of the boat. I had to use a hose from the raw water wash to keep it filled up while running around...any suggestions?
