FYI, I just got the latest West Marine sales paper, and they look to have some decent deals on winterizing supplies (note, I do not own stock in West Marine,
but wish I did... damn I spent a lot of money there!)

Anyway, given the threads about oil/filters, I thought I'd mention it. They have their house brand NMMA certified 2 and 4 stroke oils cheap, as well as
the Sierra/Moeller 10 micron fuel filters for $10 bucks each. Good time to stock up!

Been meaning to post this ... but you know with brain farts etc.

Those of you who have to winter your boats for a period of time, try this:

Unhook your fuel line from your engine(s) (with the quick connect), slide a phillips into the gas delivery port to keep it open, put that end into a container
and hit the priming bulb. You may get clear or amber ... water junk. Keep this up until you get the blue color of your "gas" stabilizer. You will

I was preparing to winterize my new SR19 with a 2003 Honda 90 for my first time this fall. I have been winterizing other four stroke outboards for a number of
years now; but, this is my first Honda outboard and I was surprised from what I read in the owners manual. I could not believe that Honda stated to use SAE
10W-30 recommended for regular use and that an API Service of SG or SH oil with a starburst was okay to use. No mention of marine grade oil was mentioned, so

But I have a couple of issues with it. One is a very pronounced list to port when on plane (and only when running on plane at speeds above 20 mph), which
seems to be related to prop torque. The other is that at WOT my engine is only turning about 4600 RPM.

I am the new owner of a 2000 Sea Pacer 17 with a 2000 model year 115HP Four Stroke Yamaha. With full fuel (24 gal in saddle tanks, 27 in rear main) but only
one person aboard, the boat seems quite sluggish getting up and planing. Full throttle yields only about 3400 rpm until the boat starts to pick up speed. I
estimate that it takes about 10 seconds to be planing.

Is this typical performance, or should I be concerned that something is wrong with my motor?
